About Big Meadows Reservoir Campground (South Central Co)
Big Meadows is located in the San Juan Mountains in south-central Colorado, about 11 mi west of South Fork. The campground is lightly wooded with spruce trees, creating a beautiful meadow atmosphere.
The Rio Grande National Forest spans 1.86 million acres in south-central Colorado. The Continental Divide runs for 236 mi along most of the forest's western border, presenting a myriad of ecosystems from alpine desert to dense wilderness.

We had a wonderful time while staying and camping at Big Meadows. Alex and Dahlia are wonderful camp host, who made are stay great. There handling, cleaning and comfort for campers was excellent.

We saw a number of people fishing, kayaking, and boating on the reservoir. The roads are very walkable, and a number of folks were walking around the grounds. The sites are large and offer some privacy with the trees and such. Potable water is available. We have been then before this trip, and will be going back again and again!

Every site we have reserved has been nice. The staff are friendly . They keep the grounds and bathrooms neat and clean. There isn't any hookups but water is available. Each site is spacious not like RV campgrounds where you are parked near each other. There are designated sites for RVs or tents. The lake is beautiful for fishing or boating. Most sites are surrounded by trees. There are trails you can walk. Grocery stores , restaurants, gas stations and dump stations near by.
