This is a beautiful campground. If you are not there for fishing, stay in one of the higher spots. We stayed in 42 which had a beautiful view .

Beautiful area and campground!
We had a bit of a surprise when we arrived-
Someone was in our site. The host was off that day. So it was a problem! They wouldn’t leave the site. We did find another site but were far away from family.

Great place for paddle boarding, hiking, fishing or just relaxing. Give the rail bikes in town a try, fun experience…revolution rail

Big Meadows is PHENOMENAL! The campground host did an exceptional job keeping the outhouses clean. My only negative is that we could not have campfires. However I understand the reason was due to extreme fire danger.

Beautiful area. No hookups. Water availability was intermittent. Restrooms well maintained. Hiking and fishing were good. Lots of generators running from 7 am go 9 pm.

This was the most beautiful camping trip of my life. Waking up to the mountains and the beautiful reservoir right outside our tent was beyond words. There are beautiful hiking opportunities and the reservoir is amazing for kayaking, paddle boarding, or small boats. There is also tons of OVH trails near by. There is no showers available but there are showers available for small fee in the near by town of South Fork. I can't wait to plan our next vacation.

Water hydrants (faucests) were inoperable in many areas, specifically in the lower loop at the time we were there. Still one of hte best "boondocking" campgrounds to go to. Camp Host was not as visiable as years past, but kept the outhouses clean and trash emptied. Wind was pretty bad this time around, but the fish were still biting. Surprised when we saw the flood washout on one of hte creeks feeding the reservoir coming down Wolf Creek. Still beautiful

Not much shade at the campground but the reservoir is so beautiful! Plan for the sun and you will have an excellent time.
