Water at centrally located spigots was flowing really good this year.
Road through campground was very rough.
Needed a road grader.
And very dusty.
Bathrooms needed daily cleaning. Toilet paper was left daily, but zero cleaning.

The rating was due to the weather, not the campground. This is our 3rd or 4th time here. We like the location, the amenities and the cleanliness. We are fans of fishing, kayaking and hiking. Hiking was the only activity we were able to enjoy while there. We also appreciate how close Southfork is to the campground and were able to enjoy a good meal at a local restaurant and malts at the malt shop when the weather became an issue.

Such a great, beautiful place to stay. My kids and twice had so much to do and see when we visited. We fished, hiked, and explored and will definitely return.

My wife and I have stayed at Big meadow 6-7 times. We always enjoy our selves. I love to fish in my kayak.

We will return again.

Campsites are large and nicely spaced, providing very good privacy at most sites.
A mile long dirt road off the highway is in good condition. Campground is clean and pretty well maintained.

Apart from the wind, our experience at the campground was excellent! Beautiful area and the reservoir is great for kayaking/paddle boarding. Campsites are quite spread out compared to many other places we’ve been, so quiet and privacy are abundant (2 reasons we go to the mountains). Lots of trees and good shade at many of the sites. Hosts were nice and helpful. Lots of deer in the area and birds in abundance. Hiking trails all around the reservoir. Cascade Falls is a short walk and is pretty. Lots of great campsites for trailers here. Had to bring containers for water and only specific hydrants were open. No electric sites but we didn’t need it.
