What Guests Are Saying
Aspenglen Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, great location, and well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and private, tree-lined sites. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and helpful rangers, making it a favorable spot for camping. However, some noted a lack of sufficient food storage boxes and limited access to trails and water nearby, but overall, the experience remains highly positive.

Our campsite was large and well maintained. The new bathroom was extremely nice. The older one was clean. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable for the most part. Very close to sheep lake, where we were able to view moose nightly. Plenty of deer and turkey wandering through our site.
The reason for the “3 star” or “good” rating is that the sites are very close together. You can hear the conversations of all the neighbors.
The second was that another camper brought an extremely unfriendly dog. One of my children was riding his bike on the road and her dog tried to attack him causing him to wreck. Thankfully it was leashed and he was scraped and bruised but no serious injuries. Several sites worth of campers witnessed the altercation. She then started screaming at him and told him he was no longer allowed on the public road. There were 4 families with children under 12 on our loop and she verbally assaulted all of the children. She told staff that my son tried to run over dog. The STAFF told him to ride his bike around another loop that could not be easily viewed from our site. And the STAFF told all the children to just stay off that section of the loop. I felt, that since the owner had admitted the dog was not friendly and it was a public road, the staff did not handle the situation appropriately. Especially since 4 families were inconvenienced over 1 aggressive dog/owner.

Lovely spot. Relatively small wooded campground with some views of the surrounding mountains. Very quiet. I imagine it is a great spot to see wildlife, although we weren't there long enough. Our neighbors were regulars, were quite friendly, and they gave us some of their firewood since we got in too late to buy any.

Wow. My experience here was amazing. I had checked all the FCFS campgrounds closer to my hike, and all were full, so I found myself over at Asplenglen! From the time I pulled over to check in, to departing I felt at home. A wonderful entrance drive, AMAZING STAFF!!! The woman behind the counter was really special, she had so much patience and kindness to share with me- I hope I see her again. My campsite was clean and right across from the bathrooms. The view just coming out of my tent in the morning was really something special. The only issue I had with this campground was the strict hours that firewood was sold. I had to cut my hike short just to make it back in time for the 5-7 window :/ I wish it could be sold at check in! Otherwise, I really enjoyed this campground.

We had a good trip to Aspenglen. The site was a good size and was set away from other sites. It was generally quiet and peaceful which we appreciated. The bathroom facilities were quite clean and the parking situation was fine. We would recommend Aspenglen for car camping.

The location of the campground was lovely, forested with water nearby. The most disconcerting part of camping there was that it seemed to directly under an evening flight path and jets came by pretty loudly for a number of hours during the night! Kind of spoiled the outdoor experience for awhile, and kept waking us up. Otherwise I really liked the campground, and the bathrooms were clean and folks working there were pleasant.

We stayed one night in a pleasant campsite. Had dinner with a rainbow overhead. Enjoyed the sound of the string nearby. We went to the ranger program. Enjoyed it very much. The interpretive program was informative and useful.
