It rained heavily when we camped. We were lucky that the basement of the campground was above the ground and water could flow down through the space between the logs. It was cold but the experience was unforgettable.

We stayed in the tent loop and the Mountain Views were incredible. Camping with that beautiful range as the setting was sublime. 10 out of 10

This was our second time staying at Glacier Basin Campground and it was perfect! We rented two tent sites side-by-side as some family was joining me and my husband. There was enough space between each campsite that nobody felt crowded together and the restrooms were well kept. AT&T cell coverage was MUCH better than our 2020 camping trip, so we felt more comfortable about going on solo hikes if anyone wanted. We are planning on making this campground an annual trip! Glacier Basin is half a mile (if that?) from the Park & Ride shuttle service which made our transportation to trail heads along the Bear Lake Loop much easier than fighting for a parking spot. Our first day we hiked the Mills Lake trail starting from the Glacier Gorge trailhead (round trip 5.6 miles, 3hr 45min moderate intensity trip) and absolutely loved the destination of Mills Lake. Even though it was a longer hike, the 8 and 10 y/o that joined us hiked right along side us the entire way (and they loved the patches of snow still present!). A stop along the way, and a destination in itself, is Alberta Falls. The next day we hiked back to Alberta Falls with a family member who has a bad knee and she was still able to make the hike if she took her time. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful site, beautiful area. Ranger staff helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and available. Bathrooms clean and well stocked. The two bull elk at my site were a marvelous bonus!
Super easy access to all areas of the park via the great bus system. I stayed four nights and never moved my car!
See you next summer!

We had a great stay at this campground. The facilities were very clean and the location was excellent for us. There is a big difference between sites however. Some are very pleasant and offer some privacy and shade whereas others are out in the open and really close to your neighbors. So, if that’s important to you, you might want to check the map closely before selecting your site. But regardless, it’s a great place to stay.

I will never understand how RMNP has 265,000 acres but they put the campsites so close you can hear your neighbor fart.
It’s terrible, the idea is to enjoy the nature but you can’t because the kids are running around screaming all day long and the parents are just getting drunk.
It’s really disappointing, we tried the backcountry camping however all the trials pass right through camp so again you are trying to enjoy the nature and tons of people walking right through your camp talking to you. I came out here not to talk to people!
Can’t see any animals because people are loud and the kids are even louder. If it rains even a tiny drop everyone gets in their cars at the campsites and sits in there with the engine running again ruining the nature.
The campers trash everything, they don’t recycle and just very inconsiderate of their surroundings. It’s a national park and should be preserved but leave it to people to ruin everything.

We had a great experience at Glacier Basin CG. Our site was one of the group camping sites with lots of space for out tents, a good collection of picnic tables, a nice fire ring. Close to clean bathrooms and water. Not far from firewood sales. The Ranger office was very helpful and friendly. Great location close to Beat Lake area and Estes Park.
