I camped at Rabbit Valley Area twice on my trip. If the weeds in the graveled camping areas were controlled, I'd give this area the full 5 stars.
First night out (Oct 6, 2024): east- southeast of the Interstate 70 interchange (Fluffle 21): Everything was fine except the weeds in the graveled parking area were so abundant and thick (like a tall carpet) that we had to drive our rigs through them and do some weed removal in order to have better access to our campers. Later I read the sign that explained how funds were being spent to maintain the campground, including spraying weeds ... which obviously hasn't being done in a while on at least some of these sites.
Last night out (Oct 11 2024): in the High North Campground: No weed problem in the graveled areas here -- very nice sites. A fire had been through recently, which appears to have started from a vehicle on I-70, west of the campground, and burned up to the campground and partially hit some of the campsites. Still a nice place to camp, though. The grasses that burned you won't be able to tell in a season or two. Some of the sparse trees are goners, but some have survived as well.

Campground and Campsites are clean and well-kept.
Vault Toilet was clean and stocked with TP.
Campground is a bit too pricey ($28 for a site) when you include the mandatory reservation fee, and no provisions for walk-up customers who are just passing through for one night.
IMO, this should be a FCFS-area with lower fees per site. $10-$12 would be appropriate.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Vehicles & parking
- A truck with a toy-hauler and UTV counts as one vehicle for reservation purposes.
General
- Rabbit Valley is a multiple-use area where respect earns respect.
- You are representing your user-group here.
- All users are expected to yield to equestrians.
- Expect other people around blind corners on the trail.
- Keep your speed low on full-sized roads.
- Roads are not maintained and may be rough.
- Access to Knowles Overlook may require high clearance and 4-wheel drive.
- Rabbit Valley is located in the high desert of the Colorado Plateau.
- Temperatures in the summer can reach over 100 degrees during the summer months.
- There is very little shade.
- Come prepared with water and shade for hot days.
- Campsites are limited to 10 people and two vehicles* Group sites are limited to 20 people and up to 5 vehicles.
- Individual group site capacities vary, double check your selected campsite capacities before making a reservation.* Vehicles must be parked in designated areas, parking off road is not allowed.
- Stays are limited to 7 days per month.
- No firewood gathering is allowed.
- No water or electricity is available.
- All members of the group will use the developed toilet facilities and/or a portable, leak-proof, reusable toilet system (or an EPA-approved carry-out bag system) to capture all solid human waste.
- All trash, including dog waste, must be packed out.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am - Please respect other campers.
- Reservations are required for all camping within the campground.
- Changes may be made to your reservation until 24 hours before the reserved date.
- A full refund, minus the $8 reservation fee, will be given if canceled 48 hours before the first reserved date.
- Please note, you cannot change your check-in date.
- If you would like to change your check-in date, you will need to cancel your entire reservation and rebook.
- Check out time is 12:00, noon.
- There are no refunds given due to weather. *Vehicle will be defined as freeway legal transportation used to access the site (i.e. car, truck or motorcycle).
- A truck hauling a toy-hauler trailer and UTV is one vehicle, per the purposes of the reservation.
