Great campground. Kind of expected there to be toilet paper in the pit toilets. But great sites in a great location.

Stopped at high camp #8 for a couple of nights, found the area so nice we extended it to six. Nicely spaced sites were in excellent shape with great views all around. Heard that this used to be overused dispersed camping so kudos for the change!
The Trail through Time exposed us to the Dinosaur Diamond loop, so we began exploring points close by, checked out Fruita (and Suds and and Spin laundry), some hiking trails, and even took Douglas Pass up to Dinosaur NM.
We felt that the high camp sites are more spacious than their descriptions and had no trouble with a truck and 21 foot camper. Everything was super clean.
A waypoint that became a destination and just what we needed.
Things to be aware of: Strong winds during a weather front; road is great but gravel/dirt (rain could be an issue); primitive camping only.

Site 19 and 20 are not easy to find but are located above the sites 1 -10 ish loop. Instead of driving into the signs that say campground to the left just keep going forward and you will find them. Caution you may want to walk in first as there isn’t a good place to turn around with a camper and you would have to back out.

Good experience at site as the sun was setting and the colors were beautiful. Pronghorn herd ran past during a walk. Check out the dinosaur fossil trail across the interstate.

The reservation process worked well and our site was left somewhat clean by the previous campers. There were many campers that arrived after dark and all had trouble locating their sites - you should add a site map immediately at the site (Jouflas) to assist with this. There were other campers who did not have reservations at this site that opted to make their own spot, which was pretty annoying since it encroaced on our spot. Rather than argue about it, we made friends, but you should have a camp ranger that checks such things.

The number denoting our campsite was missing and we arrived after the sunset. This meant we could not find our campsite and had to sleep in an area that was not our campsite. In the morning, folks were nice and someone showed us where they thought our site was. We set up there the next day, as it did appear to be our numbered spot. The parking at these sites is confusing and there were some folks without reservations "poaching" spots which was frustrating to deal with. I think funding relates to these next comments ... the bathroom ran out of toilet paper Saturday and the campsite (and surrounding areas) map encased in glass and wood is sliding out of position and difficult to read. Otherwise - great trip and would return!
