What Guests Are Saying
Lottis Creek Campground is praised for its excellent location, friendly and attentive camp hosts, and exceptionally clean facilities, including the vault toilets. Guests enjoy spacious and well-maintained campsites, with many nearby recreational opportunities like fishing and hiking. However, concerns were raised about deep potholes in the campground roads and issues with the dump station water supply, which need addressing.

Great location, great sites, great camp host. One of the best campgrounds I have stayed in years. Will be booking dates to stay here next summer.

Campground was very nice and clean. Bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve ever seen. They didn’t even smell bad. Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Very wonderful experience.

Very well managed and maintained campground. One of the camp hosts was particularly helpful in resolving a reservation issue with our site. Plenty of opportunities for hiking and, on the nearby Taylor Park Reservoir, fishing and water sports.

Lottis Creek Campground has changed a lot since I first started using it 60 years ago. It is much improved but has one huge problem. Maintenance of the gravel roads is terrible. This summer there are huge potholes in the road, and there is no effort at dust control. Mag chloride applied in June with the accompanying grading would cure this problem. Until this is done, staying in this campground is a mediocre experience.

We have stayed rhere for many years and although we didn’t get there last year, this was the best experience we have had. The campground was in great shape and the restrooms were cleaner than they have ever been. The Hills put their personal touch there as well. They are “keepers”!!

Campground host (Jerry from Iowa) was excellent - so knowledgeable, welcoming; attention to detail - site condition/restroom condition facilities; helpful on local knowledge ie. NFS dump station location nearby; shortcut back road to Crested Butte....and saved us 53 miles of travel by recommending Cottonwood Pass (not evident as much of a road on maps) v Monarch for our next destination.....and a great campground site as well. An easy 5 star rating for an NFS experience.
