This was our first time camping in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Our spot was perfect. Surrounded by shrub trees and bushes, you couldn't really see the neighbors around you. Lots of birds and beautiful sunset views. We were able to park our 20' van level in the spot and enjoy using the picnic table nearby.

Black Canyon was well maintained and the site was nice. Staff was uniformly helpful and cheery. A great park, and a fine campground.

Not the most aesthetic campgrounds in that no trees actually grow there and the campsites are jammed close together. Pit toilets only. But they serve their purpose, adequate for a one-night stay.

The campsites were nice and the canyon itself was amazing. However, we were bummed out that the park was promised as a true dark sky park but there was a lot of glow coming from Montrose.

Camping in the park was convenient and we loved our campsite. There are no showers or running water so be prepared for that.

Nice campground. Loved that you can access the Rim trail right from the campground. Night sky was fantastic.
