Very good primitive cabin experience. Beautiful, historic location. It was nice having the whole site to myself included in rent. Decent fishing in Clear creek on site. The two drawbacks are that the cabins are at a junction of two 4x4 roads (390 & 381) with periodic 4x4 traffic. Not a huge deal but not as isolated as you'd think. The other drawback is the cabins are infested with rodents. Cabin #1 was way worse than #2 so I opted to sleep in #2. There was lots of steel wool stuffed into the cracks of #2 hindering the mice and rats. Cabin #1 didn't appear to have the same care. I was prepared with a covered cot tent. It would be a good place with a group of people. Overall a good experience.

this is a great place, but the only real concern is the wood rat that visited the inside of cabin #1 in the middle of the night. I did not have any food or products that smell so not to attacked mice. There were no mice droppings inside the cabin, but plenty of rat droppings, even when I arrived. This can't be healthy. The north west corner of the floor had hail screen over holes, but I scared the wood rat out probably where he can in, since I had the door wide open. The wood rat left from NW corner along floor in chinking, between logs. The out house is immaculate. Great location.

Wonderful location in the canyon. Having an established firepit and bathroom was a nice luxury. We had a bull moose come through the first morning! There were mice in cabin 1. Unfortunately we had to sleep in our vehicle on our 2nd night because of a bat in cabin 2. Next time we'll bring the pop up or tent vs relying on the cabins. Our dogs has so much fun exploring and playing in the water. We look forward to coming back.

Beautiful location. Near Clear Creek and plenty of hiking trails. We did have mice in cabin 1 even with no food in the cabin. No bear sightings. Clean bathroom.

What a beautiful place! You definitely need a higher clearance vehicle as the drive in has a few tricky spots but it is well worth it. Be sure to bring ALL necessary supplies as there is nothing nearby. The outhouse was in great condition and honestly the cleanest one I’ve ever seen. We can’t wait to go back next year for a longer stay!

Be sure to bring ALL necessary supplies as there is nothing nearby. The outhouse was in great condition and honestly the cleanest one I’ve ever seen. Drive about 9 mi and turn south on the cabin access drive which is gated; the cabins will be visible immediately on the right. There are 4 cabins; the rentable cabins are the first two and will be clearly marked with 1 and 2.

Crescent Mining Camp is accessible via Highway 24, located approximately 17 miles south in Buena Vista. No interstates or major freeways are nearby.
Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Reservations must be made in advance; walk-ins are not accepted.
- Access to the facilities is via a combination lock included in your confirmation letter.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- There is no water supply; guests must bring their own for all needs.

- Guests must bring garbage bags as this facility requires packing out all waste.
