These guys screwed me twice in one weekend. I called ahead to see if I could get potable water for my camper. They said yes. We showed up less than 30 minutes later and we were turned away because the only spots the water was available had a reservations on the campsites for people that had not shown up yet. All we wanted to do is fill up a water and leave, and they told us we could on the phone!
Then on the way home I stopped at the campground to dump my sewer and gray water. They turned me away again! Their rules are that dumping is for overnight guests only. I understand why they have those rules in place but it was frustrating after my experience 3 days before.

The sites are pretty small though well maintained. There are bathroom facilities with real toilets and sinks with free showers. When we arrived Friday the bathrooms were really clean but by Sunday they were less so, particularly the men's.
Parking at the site was pretty tight and there's certainly only room on the upper hill for 1 car and tent. And the sites next to us were pretty close together.
There's potable (drinkable) water right next to the sites. The fire pits have a grill to fold over on top of.
The store sells wood for 7 dollars a bundle (we usually went through 1-1.5 per fire). They also sell ice, drinks, worms, and apparently you can rent bikes.
Location wise, it's only an 8 min drive from Leadville and a few minutes from the lake.

We got a last minute campsite after our last accommodations fell through. The staff was kind and accommodating, even walking us to our site. The bathrooms were extraordinarily clean and in great working order, which you don’t often see at campgrounds. Some reviews complained about fees, but I personally appreciated the enforcement of regulations. If you are a considerate camper, you won’t have any issues. We would definitely stay again. My only complaint is that you couldn’t book a site in advance for just one night.

Great place to camp, it’s quiet, nestled in pine trees, the bathrooms and showers are always very clean and the customer service is great, they’re happy to walk you to your campsite, which is a nice touch. Sites are well maintained and even have nice, level sand platforms for your tent area, no more bent tent stakes! Good access to all Leadville has to offer as well as hiking, biking, and fly fishing.

After reading some reviews I was leary, but overall, we were very happy. The views from the campground were amazing. They have several rules but they are necessary to ensure everyone’s enjoyment. The bathroom/showers were very clean and except for not draining as good as it could have it was an excellent shower. The staff people were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed watching the little chipmunks every day…they were very entertaining😊 The only negatives I will say is that it was quite dusty and a little gravel would help. Also, they could space out the sites a bit more. It was extremely close. If we had chosen to have a fire and our neighbor did as well our fire rings would have literally been about 4 feet apart. It is sad that so many of these places try to squeeze in as many campers as possible. It just takes away from the camping experience in my opinion. We were there for four nights and we did enjoy our stay.
