About North Fork Campground

North Fork Campground is set in a towering aspen grove on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies at an elevation of 7.8 ft. This is an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. Most sites are widely spaced and open up to the river valley, though a heavy understory of tall grass and wild roses provide privacy. The North Fork of the White River is across from the campground.

This was such a pretty spot! It even rained almost the whole time and it was still so beautiful and a very quiet camp ground (there was some traffic from the main road which was surprising cause it’s in the middle of nowhere!) The hosts were also great- they even found playing cards for us! Had a blast!

Campground is a bit old. It's on a hill and rain has washed out some of the sites. The sites are uneven so if you have a large rig this place might not be for you unless you know which site to choose. Also some sites didn't have tent spots unless you put up in the drive. Site 26 and 28 are level and large. Others might be also but I didn't check them all out. We were in #5 which was a pull through. It was okay, but the table and fire pit were not useable due to washouts .
The campground was very clean. Restrooms were nice for outhouses. But the forest service should do a little work to rehab the place as it's popular.

We live in Colorado but had never been to Meeker or the White River National Forest. It was beautiful, awesome in fact. The camp site that I had reserved did not work for us at all, to steep with no room to level or unload our quads. I went to the camp hosts and they gave us a level and larger spot we shared it with our dad and it all worked out. The camp hosts were great and the camp ground quite and deer come thru every once and awhile. We rode some challenging trails on our quads that had breathe taking view. It is so much fun to get out and see the beauty of Colorado. Thanks to the camp host Bob and Pam.

It was unclear that our site was a pull through trailer spot and not appropriate for tent camping. We wound up staying at a different campground.

A little disappointed it was across the street from the river and no apparent access, would be better if easy/obvious river access.

Campground was reasonably remote and even on Memorial Day weekend was not filled. Campground was quiet and camp-hosts helpful. We will be back.
