The location of Colorado Heights Campground is convenient and easy to access from the interstate, and the staff we did interact with were kind and friendly.
Before our stay, I had actually tried to call and email the campground asking which site they would recommend for our 40 ft fifth wheel, but never received a response.
When we arrived late at night, we had reserved a 45 ft site, but because of the narrow roads and large trees there was no way to safely get our trailer into that spot. We are experienced drivers (CDL holders who frequently tow large trailers and doubles), so maneuvering big rigs is something we’re very comfortable with. Overall, the campground felt very not big-rig friendly due to the tight roads and trees.
Unfortunately there was no way to reach anyone after hours for help. We ended up walking around the campground and finding an open pull-through site just so we could park for the night.
Once parked, the breaker tripped pretty quickly, leaving us without power or heat overnight. Again, there was no way to contact anyone for help, and emails went unanswered.
The office was open 8–9 AM, and once we were able to talk with someone the staff were kind and easy to work with and helped get things sorted.
That said, the lack of communication before our stay and the inability to reach anyone after hours made the experience frustrating. Because of that, we likely wouldn’t stay here again.

The resort is beautiful with nature all around. We came during the Thanksgiving holiday and staff were always available to answer our questions despite it being a holiday week. The grounds are clean and even though it was too cold to use the outdoor amenities, there were so many! Nice and quiet in the park and easy to navigate our camper around the trees.

We had such a good time at Colorado Heights Campground! When I walked in, I saw two VERY friendly people, both fellow supporters of Michigan State University. They were incredibly helpful and waved every time they saw us in the park during our stay. Jeanette and Chris would be great faces to see at our next visit!

5 stars simply because the staff were out of this world! We full time and have never encountered nicer staff.

My only complaint is the campsites are very small and we had to ask to open places like the lounge.

The activities were fun! Kids had a ball. Very centrally located to everything.

Absolutely fantastic spot we want to tell everyone about but also keep a secret! We booked the same day and went the Sat/Sun of fiesta week and there were so many activities. Bonfires, potluck, pinatas (kid and adult), karaoke, bingo, pancakes. The hosts are great and everyone is so friendly! We were in spot N42, which ended up being perfectly located next to the amphitheater where the events took place. The pool was nice and clean, and the playground was fun. We also walked all around the property and explored the clubroom. Quiet time is strictly enforced at 10, and everyone respects. We quickly made acquaintances with a couple of families but one of the most memorable moments was when our neighbors told everyone at karaoke that it was my husband's birthday and had all of us go over there so we could sing him happy birthday! We then went back to our site and shared cake. Our other neighbor also hand makes kids toys which he gifted to our 1 year old and we also bought a puzzle from him! I am probably missing something, but it was a totally unexpectedly great experience! 10/10 we will be back!
