What Guests Are Saying

Cutthroat Bay Group campground offers a fantastic location near Lake Granby, making it ideal for families and outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking. Many visitors appreciate the beautiful scenery and the pavilion, although some have noted a decline in maintenance and cleanliness, particularly with restrooms and trash management. While the campground's charm is evident, improvements in upkeep and amenities could enhance the overall experience for returning guests.

My organization has used this campground for 5 summers. There has been little to no heavy maintenance done. The vent cap is all messed up on one of the outhouses and the stench drifts towards the pavillion. The dumpsters are not bear resistant at all, and bears have gotten into them every year. The fire rings are way too huge to use effectively. Please replace with a few smaller, regular sized campfire rings instead of that huge chunk of metal. It would be nice if there was a cement pad around them also. With the fire danger we have here, you should not encourage people to make the size of fire that the current rings hold. Please put in dumpsters with metal lids and an effective way to lock them. Dumpsters should be lockable so that non-paying folks can't come in and use them. That has happened every time. The fee machine at the site is not user friendly at all. It didn't accept credit cards this summer. You had to use a QR code and one of the less fortunate people in our bunch had to drive over to another machine because her phone does not do QR codes. The price goes up every year while the quality of the site goes down hill. We only keep coming back because it is a convenient location. It took 5 months to even get this opportunity to provide feedback, so I really question the effectiveness of Recreation.gove and the current campground manager.

Great spot on Lake Granby! We had a group of 9 families and enjoyed being just a couple hundred yards from the lake. Access was a bit steep, but we were able to get our kayak and paddle boards down there for hours of fun the water. Tent pads were a decent size and it was so nice to have the pavilion there, since the campground doesn’t have shade otherwise. Easy access to hiking in RMNP and we went into Grand Lake for a bit one afternoon.

Great location and clean campsite. Mint mobile service not the best if you need service which we didn’t but everything else was fantastic. Thank you so much

I would love to put 5 stars because overall our week here was great with the memories made with our family. We come every year and have for the last 27+ years. The campground to us has just been run down with not much upkeep especially with the price being paid to stay there. Both the trash and restrooms were full and not emptied or kept up prior. I understand we are outdoors and it’s an outhouse but several spiders in there including black widows was a little frightening. With the trash being full we had to be aware of how much we could throw away. The pavilions are starting to show age with missing wood pieces on pillars and the tables are chipping. There used to be well defined horseshoe and volleyball pits and now they are not cleaned up and maintained. I would suggest tent sites, pavilions, volleyball pits, horseshoe pits, and fire pits to be kept up in order for all parts to be enjoyed.
