This is such a special and amazing historic campground. The Staton family has done a great job modernizing and restoring it over the years. The cabins and bath house are all very clean and welcoming.

Definitely a great place to stay! Would Give them a 6th star if it would let me

Had the privilege of growing up around the old homestead and visiting many times up into my teenage years. Myself, parents and my grandma were very excited to see that it had reopened under new ownership last year and we were fortunate enough to stay a few nights for their opening weekend in May of 2025. Mike, Lauren and their kids are wonderful hosts and have been working hard at getting the place in great shape! Cabins/bath house have all been refurbished/remodeled and are very cozy and clean with some upgraded features that make the stay absolutely perfect 馃槉 the first year it had reopened, we stayed 3-4 separate times and can鈥檛 wait to get back this season. Great job to the new owners in restoring and wonderful gem in one of the more beautiful places in Colorado 鉂わ笍

What a wonderful place! The new owners, Mike and Lauren, are doing a wonderful job at renovating and reviving this campground after it was closed for many years. I stayed one night in the camp site and one night in a cabin. The campsite was great, and it was nice to have access to a hot shower! The cabin was super cozy and warm, and had the right amount of amenities (refrigerator/freezer, hot plate for cooking, plates/cups/utensils, etc.). I look forward to returning!!!

This is now my fourth time staying at the Old Homestead Campground that just reopened this past summer. The new owners have put so much heart into bringing this place back to life but kept the rustic, Colorado charm and history. The cabins are cozy, clean and comfortable with breathtaking views of the Never Summer range. Our family made so many great memories here already from moose sitings and fun hiking trails to enjoying time in the river and riding bikes鈥攐ur 3 year old son learned how to ride a pedal bike here! It鈥檚 my favorite peaceful, getaway spot and a hidden gem I will definitely be visiting more.
