What Guests Are Saying
Collegiate Peaks is a beautiful, well-maintained campground near Buena Vista, offering large, private sites and exceptionally clean restrooms. Visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, proximity to hiking trails and hot springs, as well as the presence of wildlife. While some sites may not be level and there were occasional issues with water quality and host availability, the overall experience remains positive, with many campers eager to return.

The campground hosts were great in finding a campsite for us when we decided to stay longer at the campground.
The road through the campground is full of pot holes and little or no maintenance has been performed on the roads. Very little maintenance would be required to have a nice road through the campground to reduce the wear and tear on the recreational vehicles that use the road. The pot holes are much, much worse than the speed bumps installed on the road.

We loved the camp site. Clean close to the pass and quiet. Our site was right on the creek.

The campground is beautiful right by the river and with a lot of great activities nearby. Our only complaint was the spot we picked was in the middle of two roads so there were always cars driving by, but now that we know that we would pick a different spot - there are lots of good ones! One night a moose ran through our campsite. Activities we did: hiking, hot springs, fireworks in Buena Vista, drove up to the Continental Divide and went to an ice cream shop in town. The kids also enjoyed the playground and park in town. We had a great experience here and will return.
