What Guests Are Saying

Alexander Springs Recreation Area offers a beautiful and well-maintained environment, with clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and a lovely spring for swimming. Secluded, woodsy campsites and well-maintained restrooms & showers (thank you, staff!) make this a pleasant campground... the spring is gravy on the cake! Do NOT leave without swimming out to the springhead... you'll need a mask, and a snorkel is helpful .. you will see an underwater chasm that is spectacular!

I love that we can camp so close to the spring. The sites are spaced out. Quiet times are respected and enforced.

Wade in the springs, regardless of the season! 72o water feels warm when it’s cool in the winter, and feels cool in the summer heat.
The volunteers at this park are over the top! One watched my dog while I visited the springs.

The staff at the front were very friendly and informative. The campsite was clean as well as the public restrooms/showers. There are metal storage bins you are able to put your coolers/food/etc. in to prevent bears/wildlife. We were able to collect surrounding wood for a campfire which made things more convenient. Ice and additional large logs/firewood are available to purchase at the entrance. We enjoyed two canoe trips; the only downside is the cost for a canoe rental was high ($50/day) and the main hiking trail/boardwalk is closed for renovations. Also, there are no individual outlets at each campsite and the only power outlet at the campground was in loop C by the restroom so I would recommend bringing a portable charger. Unfortunately, we had a portable charging device plugged in the outlet outside the restroom and it was stolen. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at the Alexander Springs and in addition we actually stayed an extra night. Would definitely recommend.
