What Guests Are Saying

Alexander Springs Recreation Area offers a beautiful and well-maintained environment, with clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and a lovely spring for swimming. Visitors enjoy the peaceful campgrounds, spacious picnic areas, and opportunities for wildlife viewing and kayaking. However, some concerns were raised about pavilion maintenance, noise from nearby campers, and limited hours for the spring, suggesting room for improvement in management.

Excellent staff, a very professional group. My family and our group love the experience there. Being we come from and outdoors up bringing we would like to see prevention of the trash being thrown in the woods up and down the path leading to the springs from the “B” loop short cut. Overall, our second major holiday here and for the amount of campers y’all do a great job!!
Thanks for another great experience.

Gracias

Alexander Springs and campground are beautiful. Unfortunately I couldn't walk in and pay, like the old days. The guy at the gate was very helpful. He got me online, got me to the reservation website and got me a spot. Being a senior, I used my lifetime senior card for my 50% discount, which turned out to be $15.50 off the $39 site fee. Must be some kind of government math. When I went to school 50% of $39 was $19.50.

We had 3 families so we chose site 35 and 38 which are next to each other with no tree separation. It worked perfectly because we were all able to be together. The showers were clean enough and the springs were perfect for the hot weather. The weekend gets really busy and there are long lines for day passes so expect a crowd at the springs. We went in July and August and there were more people in July. It wasn’t theme park crowded and you had enough space to enjoy the springs without someone next to you but the picnic tables and grills were all taken by noon for both months. Most of the available grassy area for sitting were mostly unavailable for both months by noon. So come early if you want to sit and grill. Overall great experience minus the August rain shower. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We did see a bear nearby but not at the sites. There is a food storage area on each site to keep the bears away. The critters are active at night as expected. There was a raccoon searching for food during the day at a nearby campsite but they left food out so I wasn’t surprised. Still a good experience and will be coming back soon.

We’ were the only campers there and we were in site 18 which is closest to the spring and is also a very nice large site. Very quiet. My 13 yr old son and I had a great time camping, swimming and kayaking…we will return.
