W.P. Franklin is a very well kept campground and facilities. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful. This campground also has 8 slips for boats. We have been going there for 14 yrs. at least twice a year fall and spring. Grocery shopping is about 5 to 6 miles away. You are about a half hour from Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Both places have great restaurants and plenty to do and see. This campground is on the Caloosahatchee River with west end of the campground is salt water and the east end is fresh water. Watching the boats lock through the Franklin Lock is very interesting.

The shower building was very clean. The rest of the grounds were well taken care of. We were greeted by the attendant at the gate who was friendly and helpful.

This is a great park with roomy waterfront sites. Very clean facilities. Just don’t go in May. The mayflies in the grass flew into our camper every time we opened the door. Fortunately we have two doors and the flies stayed near the other door
