Five stars for the campground. It was excellent and the full hookups were a definite plus. The sites were spacious with a few trees and well maintained.
Three stars for the springs. Felt like just a big swimming pool surrounded by concrete.
Pizza place across the street was great.

This was a great place to snorkel around with the kids, or just float on a tube. The full-hookup campsites were pretty open. Many spots have shade, but not all. The facilities were clean. I had been here years ago, and this is the first time camping at Salt Springs. It was relaxing and enjoyable.

Doubled the cost for camping since COVID and no upkeep of the grounds.
The wood stairs to enter the spring are rotted and blocked off from use. What about Handicap access?
We stayed from June 29th to July 7th. The grass wasn't cut when we arrived. I have a small dog, and it was difficult for him to walk through the tall grass to do his business and then to have to pick it up was also difficult.
The bathrooms were not kept clean. The first night, there was a toilet backed up and dirty shower stalls.
I have been camping here for the past 40 years and I will NEVER camp here again!

Camp site was good, price was high been coming here every year with another 5-8 campers in our group were now looking for another campground. Can’t drive down to the springs and park. Many of us are old and have problems walking down to the springs

Campgrounds ,springs and staff are fantastic! I am a snorkeler and enjoy snorkeling the freshwater springs in The Ocala National Forest ,which are all within a half hour driver of this recreational area. A few state parks with springs are also near by. We enjoy this place very much.
