We rode here as part of our mixed terrain ride that went through Lachloosa , and then through Longleaf Flatwoods Preserve. Very scenic, some really pretty wildflowers growing at time we were there. Also has a nice primitive camping area. We will go back and explore more sometime.

Peaceful place with easy trails. I did the mistake to hike the area at 1pm with 95 degrees. In the beginning was okay but 20 minutes later my tee was soaked because of the humidity and heat at the same time. Took me about 3 hours to complete 5.5 miles since I did all the trails. The area is well marked with red, white and yellow marks on the trees but I recommend to anyone having the AllTrails app because I disoriented and hiked 1.3 miles more, maybe I lost my orientation because I was probably exhausted due to high heat.
Overall a good park with some wildlife as well. I would love to come over n the winter again.

Maybe 4.5, not 5, but it does have well marked trails and wildlife early in the mornings. Fox Squirrels, Red Headed Woodpeckers and warblers. We were told bears frequent the preserve. Recommended on a cold or cool morning.
