What Guests Are Saying
Ortona South Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly, helpful staff, creating a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Many campers enjoy watching the boats and wildlife, with stunning sunrises and sunsets enhancing their experience. While some facilities, such as the bathrooms and fishing pier, could use improvements, the overall ambiance and well-maintained grounds make it a favorite spot for many returning campers.

Great hosts! Beautiful park. Would like to see the larger wooden dock repaired and put back in service.

Very nice park with very tidy facilities and a great setting with the river and locks. Internet and OTA TV worked fine. Attendants were very friendly.

We loved this park. Quiet, except for the charming cooing of doves each day.

This is one of the most pleasant campgrounds we have been to on this trip, and for quite some time.
It was very quiet with only a few interruptions by passing motorboats in the canal moving by slowly. We saw eagles and ospreys with 4 different types of doves calling he campground home. The folks that greeted us and work at the campgrounds we wonderful and helpful. The sites and the grounds were clean, level and well groomed.

Ortona is beautifully sited along the Caloosahatchee River near LaBelle, Florida. The sites are generously sized, well thought out and the utilities reliable (although the water has an unusual odor, it is clear, bright and safe to drink) . There are good views from each site and the adjacent lock structure is accessible to watch the proceedings.
Verizon was strong enough to stream video.
Campground hosts were friendly and the facility was kept spotless.

Excellent place to camp. One short coming is the showers in women’s bathroom. Shower heads either broken or very little water pressure. Bathroom clean but showers leave slit to be desired
Staff is excellent. Grounds very well kept Nest as a pin!

Ortona is nice....but the bath houses need a big upgrade. There's always water problems and the showers don't have a place to put your shower items. Looks like a lot of Hispanics come there and pay nothing to fish and leave their trash everywhere. Speeding thru the campground. The roads are so rough....they need fixed. It can be a wonderful place if they upgrade things.
