What Guests Are Saying
Ortona South Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly, helpful staff, creating a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Many campers enjoy watching the boats and wildlife, with stunning sunrises and sunsets enhancing their experience. While some facilities, such as the bathrooms and fishing pier, could use improvements, the overall ambiance and well-maintained grounds make it a favorite spot for many returning campers.

This is the friendliest COE we have been to! First time here but it felt as though we were returning family. Check in was easy and very friendly. Park is meticulously maintained. Camp Hosts are visible throughout the day and friendly. Not too far out of town but far enough to be very quiet and dark!! Hosts exceeded expectations to ensure our stay was very pleasant. Observing the locks in action was an added bonus. Will be making future reservations!

It is a great campground. It is very quiet. The water pressure could be better but other than that, perfect.

Beautiful campground with cement pads. Restrooms were clean and the campground was quiet. Great to walk across the damn and locks and watch boats go through the locks. Xfinity cell service was good. It was a good base camp to relax and visit friends and family in different directions from LaBelle, FL.

Like most COE’s, the spacing was great, the power and electric worked perfect, and the bathrooms / showers were clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful, and almost every spot had a water view. We walked down to the wood fishing dock and saw manatees feeding on the plants. Not a ton to do real close, but if you are looking for a relaxing stay, this would work find!

We loved the campground and hosts. However, we camped across from from the restroom to take advantage of the showers. The showers were closed within a few days because ??. Someone did steal a shower head. People were allowed in and out of the park during the day to fish. Unfortunately a few of these persons were suspect to trashing the bathrooms. Loved seeing the locks, birds, and other wildlife near this area, but probably would not stay here again due to the aforementioned problem.

Quiet, clean and great location. A relaxing place off the beaten path , but still have towns close by. Love this place
