What Guests Are Saying
Ortona South Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly, helpful staff, creating a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Many campers enjoy watching the boats and wildlife, with stunning sunrises and sunsets enhancing their experience. While some facilities, such as the bathrooms and fishing pier, could use improvements, the overall ambiance and well-maintained grounds make it a favorite spot for many returning campers.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ortona Lock Campground. The grounds are beautiful with tributaries flowing throughout the campground. The lock system was fascinating to watch. There are two fishing piers that are actively used by campground guests. Great fishing can be had year round. You may even spot a manatee like we did! Campground is pet friendly. ATT hotspot coverage was great.

I almost hate to write a positve review because this RV camp is hard enough to get into. I've been coming here for years, this year I planned ahead and made my 14 day reservation early enough so I had one spot the entire time, but last year I had to move 9 times in 14 days! Far enough from civilization to return to nature but close enough to take in what Ocean Springs and Biloxi has to offer. I really can't say enough good things about Davis Bayou Campground.

We are traveling Florida for the winter, staying at COE’s and state and national parks when we can. Had a 2 week stay in Ortona and I have to say, this has been my favorite campground so far. The views are great. We walked over to the damn daily to watch the boats pass thru the locks. There is a street on the other side with a couple of benches and we would walk there as well. Quiet, sites are good. The hosts are wonderful. They even planned a get together for the campers on Xmas Eve. We will definitely be returning.
