We reserved our site ahead of time assuming it would be busy and wanted to ensure a spot. I messaged Big Cypress prior to booking, requesting a map of the campground and was never provided one. I booked anyway. Our tent site was on the south side of monument lake and was hammered with wind, non-stop for the whole duration of our trip. Had there been a map available, I would’ve known to book a site out of the path of unrelenting wind. We couldn’t sleep at all while here until about 4am when the winds died down. I can’t emphasize enough, how easy map making is. And there are no pictures of any of the sites available when booking. When you arrive, the only “interpretation board” that’s supposed to provide instructions for checking in, is completely faded. The *only* good thing about the location of our site was that it was next to the bathroom with flushing toilets. The bathroom on the opposite side of the lake is a fancy outhouse. Overall, I was fairly disappointed with the site. Next time I visit this area, I will be camping in a Florida State Park; Collier-Seminole State Park is only 30 minutes from this campground and light years more comfortable.

Camp host was great, bathrooms clean, very quiet, gators well behaved. Would have liked to choose a better site but there wasn’t a map for reservations. Fire pit was unusable & overgrown

Host was great. They knew all the trails and the local area. Just a little muddy.

This is a solid option in BCNP...clean restroom, generally very quiet, safe for kids to ride bikes, and AMAZING sunsets and sunrises. The mosquitoes were a bit more aggressive than I would have hoped in late NOV, but they were far better than Flamingo in ENP.

Fantastic campground. It's definitely kid friendly and there's plenty of space to walk and have an adventure. The hunting access from the back of the campground is fantastic too. You have to go 1,600 ft before you can begin the hunt or dress any game, but it makes sense and keeps everyone safe in the campground. I've stayed here plenty of times and it's fantastic every time.
