Pinecrest Group Campground

We had reserved site four but somebody was in it already who I believe was reserved at site one. We set up on site one and had a great time. We stayed two nights and there were 10 of us. Plenty of room. I did not receive a code for the gate when the email reminder came. I called the phone number to speak with a Ranger and was given the code. everybody wants to go back again soon.

Very isolated. Enjoyed getting away from civilization!

We had a fantastic stay with great facilities. The only challenge was that we didn’t have a code/key for the padlock on the gate, which meant we had to park outside the area. It would be great if this could be resolved for future guests.

Part of me wants to rate this as horrible just to keep it secret but I wont. We love staying at Pinecrest! Watch out for crows, snakes and fire ants.

Delightful as always! Troop 305 of Miami Shores always has a great time camping at Big Cypress. Lots of trails to explore, wildlife to observe and many adventures. Camping sites have picnic tables and a small area to built a fire. No bathroom. We’ll definitely be back very soon!!

The site itself was great. Nicely maintained, had 2 picnic benches and a nice fire pit with an option grill top. The night sky was dark and full of stars. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I never received the lock combination. I had to call the park, staked on hold for about 20 minutes then got it. Other campers never got the code either and had to hike in and we gave it to them. That little communication should be fixed. However I love this campground and I’ll be back!

The camp ground was extremely clean and well maintained. A helpful staff member called and made sure I had the correct gate information. The enjoyment is in the remoteness. Good job.

We rented all four campsites for a night for my birthday and it was definitely the way to go! The four campsites are incredibly spacious! There is very little to no shade available so plan to bring a canopy or a makeshift one. The bathroom situation... there is none. There is a shelter with a hole in the ground to do your business. I suggest to bring a nose plug, and cleaning products because it’s beyond disgusting.
We had a great time and will be returning soon! There are some trials to walk/“hike” on the same long stretch of road the campsite is on. I recommend driving to them, because they are miles away. Bring EVERYTHING you need. The mosquitos are HORRIBlLE, like honest to God, monsters. There is nothing provided for primitive camping. You’ll have a blast, enjoy nature, and disconnect!
