Clearwater Lake Rec Area

The park is beautiful but... The prices are ridiculous for not full hookup. It's less expensive camping at the intercostal water with full water and electrical hookup.

The campsite is really pretty and the water is beautiful. The showers have nice hot water but shower heads were clogged.

We camp here a lot and usually the camp host are nice. This time the camp host were rude. They walked right up in our friends campsite and was snooping around while he was taking a nap in his camper. Then yelled at him for having paper in his fire ring. Hopefully she won't be there next time.

Place was neat and well maintained. The staff was very professional and kind.

My 13 year old daughter says that the lake "Makes you forget about your problems" and she is right. What a beautiful place, so calming and the rangers can't be nicer. Thanks for keeping this place up, I have been camping there for 15 years and it is a wonderful place centrally located.

Nice quiet campground, well-maintained, rules enforced. Lovely trail around the lake with alot of birds. Attentive campground hosts and pleasant ranger staff.

Very peaceful campground with access to hiking and biking trails. Paved site. Dump station was modern. Will return. Host was very helpful.

For the most part, we really enjoyed our stay here. You can tell it is not designed for bigger rigs. We have a 35' TT and did ok. Taller rigs will want to be careful as there are low branches throughout. We did have one experience as we were leaving that rubbed me the wrong way. We were camped next to my brother and sister-in-law and our kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins. We make a point to make sure our kids are being respectful of other campers/campsites and know to respect the boundaries of other people's sites. As we were packing up to leave at 10 am on a Sat, our kids were out playing with bubbles and chasing their cousins and laughing having a great time while staying between our 2 sites. The host came by and asked us if we could have our kids "keep it down, people were complaining". While he was respectful and nice about it, I couldn't help but be a little confused. Quiet time in the campground is 10 pm to 7 am. Our kids were out being kids at 10 am. I feel like we should encourage our children to play outside, and get off devices. I just have a hard time believing that our kids playing was more disruptive than the chorus of generators running, or the large motorcycle group constantly in and out and rumbling through the campground. Our public lands are a beautiful thing and different people prioritize different things. Some want peacefulness and nature, some want exploration, wonder and play. Luckily there is enough everyone should be able to find both. I guess I would argue the campgrounds with noisy generators, trucks and motorcycles is a good place for kids to be loud and play (during appropriate hours). While a short walk to the nearby nature trail could provide some quiet and peacefulness for those looking for that. I hope the host will consider pushing back against someone complaining about children playing in the future, for now it seems this place may not be the best for families. Sad because ours had so much fun otherwise.

Quiet and peaceful. Sandy bottom lake. Lot 2 is for small units or tents. Most other sites would be ok for larger units (the number of maximum foot allowance doesn't match actual site--most can handle rigs bigger than 22 or 25). Pads are narrow and some sites require higher level on one side so it's gigantic step down. Trees should be trimmed overhead--very close to hitting top for an RV. Also shoulder asphalt needs repair--big drop offs in a few spots and sites. If those repairs were made would be 5 stars.

Campsites are great but couldn't go 10 minutes without pulling ticks off. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will not camp there again because the ticks were so bad.
