What Guests Are Saying
Clearwater Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful campground, clean restrooms, and friendly hosts, creating a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere for visitors. Many guests appreciate the spacious, well-maintained sites and the variety of outdoor activities available, including swimming, kayaking, and hiking. However, there are concerns about a significant tick infestation, which has affected several campers and their pets, suggesting the need for better awareness and prevention measures.

I was able to secure a campsite online while I was still traveling from the Atlantic coast on my way to the Gulf coast. The campsite was well maintained. The clean bathhouse with a designated dish washing station was a nice touch. I would absolutely stay there again.

The whole team at Clearwater lake is outstanding. Terri and Jerry are wonderful. They are always checking to make sure everything is ok. It's like they are old friends as soon as you meet them.

The bath house was always spotless! The rules and restrictions were ridiculous concerning pets. There are so many of us that travel with our pets and all the restrictions keep us from enjoying campgrounds. I understand not letting them on the very small beach but not on the trail around the pond is kinda just plain wrong. AND THEY MAKE YOU CHECK OUT TOO TO EARLY, MY CANVAS TENT IS NOW COVERED IN MOLD DUE TO HAVING TO PACK UP DAMP!!!

We have been camping here for years. The campground is great. The online booking is not so great. Forced to pay for 3 nights even though we only stayed for 2, due to Monday being a Holiday (Columbus day?)

Wonderful campground for swimming. The water is Crystal clear and warm with a sandy bottom. Camp workers are always done peasant. My only complaint was we were told we needed to be out of the water at 5:30 which was ridiculous we were the only people there it made no sense. We got there around 4:30. Don’t know if we’ll go back for an overnight stay again.

Our family loved this place, we'll coming back, the staff was amazing, clean bath house with hot water, we reserved site A16 and got flooded the first night, the staff was so nice that moved us to site A14 that was big, had better drainage and it was perfect for our tent. The place is quiet, not crowded, the lake is perfect for little kids, clear water and warm.

My wife and child and I have been traveling all over America for 2 months now and to be honest, we have not seen a better campsite. Very clean and beautiful campsite. The staff is very kind and accommodating. Helped with everything. The water in the lake is crystal clear. Canoes can be rented. The campsite has a lot of animals, squirrels, birds, turtles. We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. We recommend to everyone. Too bad there is no electricity. it would be 10 out of 10. And so 9 out of 10.
