What Guests Are Saying
Clearwater Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful campground, clean restrooms, and friendly hosts, creating a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere for visitors. Many guests appreciate the spacious, well-maintained sites and the variety of outdoor activities available, including swimming, kayaking, and hiking. However, there are concerns about a significant tick infestation, which has affected several campers and their pets, suggesting the need for better awareness and prevention measures.

Beautiful park, great hiking. We had the BEST campsite right next to the lake! Perfect for hammock camping. The bathhouse was clean and appreciated the hot water dish wash station.
Camp host and ranger were VERY friendly and helpful.

We visit this location every year and always have a great experience! The front gate support (Emma) was helpful, informative, pleasant and professional. Each of our sites had been well maintained. The restroom/shower/dish cleaning facilities were equally well maintained. Looking forward to next year!

Absolutely my kids favorite camping trip of the year. Took her out camping somewhere else and all she could talk about was the trip to Clearwater.

Nice woodsy campground with access to forest service roads and several trails, including the Florida Trail, which began nearby in the Ocala National Forest.
