What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

Beach is great, fort is interesting, but the campground itself is poorly run. Not sure what the park hosts do besides put your paperwork on your post the day of arrival, but they don't clean. Supposedly an outside company cleans the bathhouses, they do not. In the two long weeks we were there, nothing was ever cleaned.

We really enjoyed the cleanliness of the campground. The bathrooms are very nice. It is very quiet. The proximity to the Gulf of America and Pensacola Bay is great.

This is more of a cool campground with a friendly vibe than an RV park. Everyone was friendly and respectful of their neighbors. Look A was going through the bathroom upgrade so we had Porta potties and temporary showers. Loop E had the newer upgraded showers and bathrooms, which were great.
I stayed at five different sites or five nights because I booked the late. All were level and had water and electric. Some were shaded and some were open to the sun.
Lots of fantastic walking trails and multiple access points to get to the beach. Obviously there is some great historical fort buildings to explore.
If you have a dog, they are not allowed on the beaches or the fort structures, you need to exit the park and go to Pensacola Dog Beach West. Definitely want to come back here again.

I love the area, beaches, and fort. Has always been a favorite of ours. Unfortunately it has become so run down and not maintained that it is no longer special. The lack of rangers has become very noticeable. The recreation.gov site does not accurately give alerts any longer. The signage explaining history is missing in many areas. So sad.

My family loves camping at Fort Pickens. The grounds are perfect - and I loved the upgrades restrooms. Thank you for helping me get a way, relax and reduce my stress level!

It was very crowded but still was kept clean. I give it 4 stars because the dump station is very poorly designed and always has sewage around it.

We were informed that we could not allow one vehicle to touch the gravel next to site pavement. There is not enough room in the sites to prevent a little overhang. Additionally, we are talking about gravel, not grass, and other campers have tents setup on grass and other vehicles, heavy electric bikes, parked on grass and gravel.

Great campground - enjoyed excellent ranger talk at the fort and beautiful sunset down the boardwalk across the street.
