What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

Everything was wonderful…just wish all showers were in working order and had a seat to make it all the essentials while showering. Beautiful place!

We love staying at Fort Pickens!!! So close to the pristine beaches and nice distance to local restaurants and activities. The mph to and from the campsite is possibly a little strangling. Most don't adhere due to it being extremely slow. I can understand some caution but it's extreme and I'm a senior citizen and think this.

It was a great place to stay! Quiet and spacious, and within walking distance to fishing and swimming at the beaches.

The campground is great but as warned when registering there are some low hanging trees. For larger campers, you may have to park your tow vehicle in the parking lot as both the vehicle and camper have to fit on the pad.
The host in Campground A was on a power trip to say the least. I got in trouble a couple of times because my sister's car wasn't parked properly in front of my camper. The first time she parked it long wise and he came by and told me that it wasn't allowed because they have to get off in the grass to move it (mostly rocks with patches of grass). He was nice then as I told him no problem as it wasn't my car, but I would tell them to move it to the parking lot. The second time a couple days later she parked it at a slight angle to where she could get out without getting on the grass. A little while later here comes the host and goes into chewing me out about it stating that this was my third warning. I immediately told him that I would again get it moved. He kept going on and on and kept mentioning that it was my third time of being warned. After listening to him and telling him I would get it moved, I proceeded to tell him that this was my second warning and not my third. He then threatened to call the police and have us thrown out of the park and ruin our vacation.
We then watched him go across the street and start yelling and finger pointing at another camper. He definitely wanted the power. I do know his volunteer term is up at the end of November.
Anytime the park staff or Rangers came by they were nice and never gave us any problems. Like I said, the campground is great and we will be back, but hopefully this 1 particular Host doesn't get invited back anymore.

I have visited Ft. Pickens for many years, but unfortunately, the quality of the experience has declined. The restroom facilities were in extremely poor condition—by far the worst I’ve encountered at any campground. If more attention were given to maintaining cleanliness rather than strictly enforcing minor issues, such as a tire briefly touching the grass during unloading, the stay would have been much more enjoyable.
During our visit, we cut short a six-night reservation after only two days due to these concerns. Adding to the frustration, while our vehicle received a warning notice for a tire on the grass, another truck across the street remained in the same condition throughout our stay without issue. This inconsistent enforcement left a very negative impression.
Sadly, after years of returning, this will be my last visit.

Fort Pickens is excellent National Park. Beautiful beach and a lot to do at downtown, naval base and Pensacola Beach. The park is well maintained and if have more trees for shadows will be excellent. As other parks, the people who cleans the bathroom need more close supervision because there not doing good job.

It sure would be helpful if there was a huge sign on the office door that read: "NO NEED TO REGISTER HERE - GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR SITE." Also, how about bring back the store at the entrance of C-loop.
