What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

Great campsite with nice shaded sites and close proximity to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this campground.

Great spot, convenient access to the sound and the gulf, nice facilities, polite and helpful camp hosts, spacious rv spot, and a great time.

Positive: Campsites are clean and not piled on top each other. Beaches are beautiful and not crowded. Negative: Showers and bathrooms are horrible and not sure if they have ever been cleaned. Not allowed to use outdoor showers. There is a six inch barrier around the dump site , makes it difficult to empty portal dump containers. Watch a few people dumped more raw sewage on the road than in the dump site.

The location was great and the availability to access the bay as well as the ocean was appealing. Certainly nice to have a much more quiet beach than the chaos of Pensacola Beach. Other than that, we will go somewhere else next time. #1 our campsite was supposed to be a shady site. One thin small tree on the east side so we got all the western sun in the afternoon. #2 the bathrooms were terrible. No fan in the toilet area and it was humid and extremely hot. The showers are all old and rundown. Some shower rooms had no hook or shelf or towel bar to put your stuff on. Looked more like a place to wash your pet off rather than a person taking a shower to get clean. Guess we’ve gotten spoiled by going to military base campgrounds, which are far superior in their bath houses. #3 our RV is only 25 feet and we could barely fit our small Ford Escape at the end of the paved space for our campsite. Whereas the people who camped across from us had one camper and two large tents on their campsite. They must’ve had three families there because they had multiple vehicles that were parked in the only extra nearby parking. That was an hour understanding with how parking should be allowed.
We ended up canceling the rest of our trip because it just wasn’t fun. Too hot, and too many inconveniences. Sad part is that we had to pay a cancellation fee twice because our original Camp spot wasn’t going to accommodate us for the rest of the time that we originally wanted to stay, so we had to book the second part of our trip at a different campsite. Hence the cancellation fee x 2. Overall not impressed enough.

Very nice park! Bit of a walk to the beach unless you go to Langdon. Great Camp hosts. Bath houses are fine but not air-conditioned. You can tour the Fort and fish from a pier.
