Juniper Springs Rec Area

There is a camp store here that closes at 1pm. It may be open longer on weekends. The kayaking run is great but challenging for beginners. It's about 30 minutes or so from Ocala and Silver Springs state park, another great place for kayaking. Campground was well shaded with clean bathrooms. If you're coming for the day and it's a weekend, come early. Would definitely camp here again!

What a beautiful area!! First time our family went to any spring in FL. We will be back again. The time of year we went was perfect weather and low crowds. This was toward the beginning of March. The bathhouses were very clean. Toilet paper was nicer than what Disney has! lol. Showers are only one temperature setting and push button. When you want a shower it works just fine. If you have the chance to go we would highly recommend doing so.

Wooded campground with the 7 mile juniper Springs run with kayaks available at their rental shop (solo or double). Ice and firewood available also. Clean shower houses with hot water and with flush toilets on all 3 loops, and load of springs to swim in for warm weather. Bring tick repellant. If you hike on the trails check yourself and your dogs for ticks.

Beautiful park, sites reasonably far apart, hot showers, helpful people. The spring water is 72 degrees. RV campers note: there are no electrical hookups and you need to fill your water tank at the dump station before heading to your site. Kayakers note: This is one of our favorite paddling trips, but not for beginners or little kids. 7.5 miles with no way to end part way.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is about a 10-minute walk to the springhead from this site and we like camping here so that we can get out on Juniper Run early for kayaking. This loop is in a gorgeous area of cabbage palm hammock and is very nicely shaded. We did hear some raccoons nearby and saw one at the edge of our campsite early one morning.

We’ve been camping at Juniper Springs for over 40 years. We love this place. But in the past year or so the conditions have become deplorable. Several trails, pavilions and bridges are closed and in desperate need of repair. The Sandpine loop has water spigots that don’t work. The ladies room door was broken and swinging open, the water is turned off in one of the two sinks and there were times there was no toilet paper or hand soap. The canoes have been removed for several years now. PLEASE bring Juniper Springs back to the beautiful place we love!

If you want road noise all night long then this is the place to go! Also they didn't keep up with soap and toilet paper in the bathroom. Beware!

We have stayed here for over 20 years and the site was not cleaned prior to our arrival. We were disappointed but still managed to make the most of it.
