Our campsite was clean and private, however the men's showers at the bathhouse were in disrepair, and it's disappointing to see the boardwalk around the spring still closed 3 years after our first visit. We would go and stay again, but with those repairs made it would be a place we'd go out of our way for.

Stayed at Ocala national forest to paddle Juniper Springs. Wonderful camp ground, shaded and superb camping accommodations. The kayak rental was easy and efficient. This is a must see kayaking spring. Look forward to next visit with little warmer weather.

The campground was excellent - private sites, quiet and nice bathrooms and trash facilities. Unfortunately, the underfunded forest service has beautiful but damaged walkways through the forest that they’re unable to fix due to finding.

We had an amazing time at this campground! It was everything we could ask for—quiet, peaceful, and impeccably clean. The grounds were well-maintained and had such a neat and organized feel, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Whether you’re looking for tranquility or just a clean, comfortable spot to enjoy nature, this campground checks all the boxes. Highly recommend!

The park has required a lot of repair since 2023 and trail areas still remain closed. I would recommend beginning repairs on the park considering the prices have increased.

We have been visiting Juniper springs for an annual Thanksgiving camp out for 35 years. This year was less than expected in terms of the upkeep of the facilities. We have witnessed a slow decline in keeping up with maintenance and repairs. We have also seen management come and go. The present staff on site rates 5 stars from Denise at the gate to Bryan in maintenance.
Tropical loop bathroom had issues with auto shut off valves in both men’s and women’s. The skullery wash room did not have hot water and stops under the sink are long overdue for replacement. Most sites could use asphalt repair and smoother transitions without walking and tripping over roots and eroded pull through areas.
Also new this year was having to pay the extra night for checking out on Saturday. I understand the two night weekend policy but it seems a bit much when staying 7-10 days. Maybe some of this is forest service responsibility so I will forward this to our contacts at Lake George Station.

This was sour group's (TFCO) 36th consecutive year camping at Juniper Springs. Each year the managers and staff make us feel welcome, from Brian on the maintenance end to Denise in the gate house they are always happy to see us.

From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs for approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19, the campground is 4.5 miles west on Highway 40. The entrance is on the north side of Highway 40.
Juniper Springs Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 40, which connects to I-75 and I-95. It is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19.

General
- Campground gate is closed and locked from to . Campers who check-in after the gatehouse is closed must visit the Gatehouse the next morning to complete their check-in to their site. Failure to do so will lead to a 'no show' charge to your reservation and potential forfeiture of site.
- Camp sites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Each campsite can hold a MAXIMUM of 2 tents and 5 campers. Maximum 2 vehicles per site (campers included); extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area and will be charged $9 per vehicle, per night
- NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- No off-road vehicles allowed within the campground
- Bears and raccoons frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in immediate ejection from campground without refund.
- Dogs/pets are allowed in campground only and must be leashed and supervised at all times. No dogs/pets allowed in day-use area, bathrooms, boardwalk and canoe run.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the day-use area.We ask that guests be courteous of one another and limit floats in the swimming area to under 60 inches across. Please be aware the boardwalk remains closed due to age and hurricane damage.
- Children weighing less than 40 lbs are not allowed in rental canoes. No disposable items allowed on the canoe run (i.e., food wrappers, styrofoam coolers, cans, bottles, etc.) Only re-usable containers are allowed.
- Private canoe and kayak launches are at a fee and limited to 30 total vessels per day. Vessels must be launch BEFORE 1:00 p.m. daily. JUNIPER RUN IS NOT FOR BEGGINERS. IT IS A WILDERNESS AREA AND MECHANICAL TOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED, SO THE RUN REMAINS WILD.
