Great staff, very helpful. Some sites are better than others. Reserve early. Beautiful springs. Boardwalks under repair so we could not access some of the best areas normally easy to get to. Facilities were clean despite the fact that many people are to lazy to even wipe their feet before entering the restroom areas.
Not much you can do about the folks whose mamas didn't teach them any manners.
Overall good experience. We will be back and know exactly which sites to reserve this time.

Bathrooms were dirty and there were multiple toilets that were out of order. Trails were all closed and the area around the springs was very poorly kept and looked like it hadn’t been tended to for a while. Signs showing attractions and histories were worn, faded or unreadable due to age and lack of maintenance.

The campground was beautiful, clean, and easy to navigate. We paddled the run and it was a fun adventure. We loved our time there.

Lets see, tree trimming at 8am and inability to change campsites due to poor site conditions. Yeah, not a great time.

Upon arrival we discovered that out site was directly beside the bathrooms (twenty unobstructed feet). However, Recreation.gov does not allow for the changing of campsites, even the onsite folks (who were very kind) are unable to make site adjustments. I ended up reserving another site and taking the loss on the original site as once checked in I was unable to cancel the first site.

The campsite map doesn't accurately show the bathroom location as campsites that look to be near the bathrooms are actually directly beside and are illuminated by the bathroom light all night. So close that other campers walk through the site to the bathrooms. Also, a tree trimming crew with three trucks and what seemed like ten lumberjacks with chainsaws joined us for breakfast. Not peaceful at all!

Despite not having any hook ups I love juniper Springs however way too much of it was closed down at this time. Please fix the path around the smaller spring, such a beautiful place it was a shame to not be able to visit it. I did enjoy seeing the US Army A10s flying over as they made runs on the training bombing range a few miles south. I also got a chance to walk a bit on the Florida Trail where it passes through. Both good things.
One of my favorite campgrounds for both fiver and tent in the area, just fix those paths.

From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs for approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19, the campground is 4.5 miles west on Highway 40. The entrance is on the north side of Highway 40.
Juniper Springs Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 40, which connects to I-75 and I-95. It is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19.

General
- Campground gate is closed and locked from to . Campers who check-in after the gatehouse is closed must visit the Gatehouse the next morning to complete their check-in to their site. Failure to do so will lead to a 'no show' charge to your reservation and potential forfeiture of site.
- Camp sites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Each campsite can hold a MAXIMUM of 2 tents and 5 campers. Maximum 2 vehicles per site (campers included); extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area and will be charged $9 per vehicle, per night
- NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- No off-road vehicles allowed within the campground
- Bears and raccoons frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in immediate ejection from campground without refund.
- Dogs/pets are allowed in campground only and must be leashed and supervised at all times. No dogs/pets allowed in day-use area, bathrooms, boardwalk and canoe run.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the day-use area.We ask that guests be courteous of one another and limit floats in the swimming area to under 60 inches across. Please be aware the boardwalk remains closed due to age and hurricane damage.
- Children weighing less than 40 lbs are not allowed in rental canoes. No disposable items allowed on the canoe run (i.e., food wrappers, styrofoam coolers, cans, bottles, etc.) Only re-usable containers are allowed.
- Private canoe and kayak launches are at a fee and limited to 30 total vessels per day. Vessels must be launch BEFORE 1:00 p.m. daily. JUNIPER RUN IS NOT FOR BEGGINERS. IT IS A WILDERNESS AREA AND MECHANICAL TOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED, SO THE RUN REMAINS WILD.
