Excellent group site. There are 3 or 4 spots for campers or rvs to back in. Many places to set up multiple tents. You can fit a lot of people very spaciously here. This is a primitive site. No sinks/showers/electric. Pit toilets area was pretty clean. Views of the lake are great. We used kayaks, stand up paddle boards and floats to enjoy and swim in the lake. There are gators. We saw one stalking a duck. Multiple grill areas. Large fire pit. Saw a lot of deer. Bear tracks down the road but never saw bear but they are here. Heard coyotes one night. Keep in mind hunting season when booking. TICKS ARE BRUTAL HERE.

This was our 5th year with a group of adults and kids tent camping at Buck Lake. It's incredible that this campground exists as a private site with a locking gate and long entry drive. Well maintained, gorgeous views of the lake and a hand-pump well on site (we filter the water as a precaution). There are occasional thru-hikers and nighttime hunters with packs of dogs echoing in the surrounding forest and scrub-- all a part of the experience! -- and we've generally felt safe... until this year. We were awakened at 3 am on two consecutive nights by adult voices and wailing/moaning in our camp. We ran out with flashlights but saw no one, and nothing was stolen. Also, bring long pants and tick repellent!

Beautiful location. Great place to camp for a weekend. Only problem we had was the lock on the gate wouldn’t unlock so we had to break it just to get out of the campground after our last night there. None of the ranger stations I called were open on the weekends.

I was pleasantly surprised that someone had previously policed the site for cigarette butts. Last year I must have picked up fifty "hemp" butts alone, plus all of the others. My son and I always pick up the butts and alas this year there were only about five or six. The A10's were going crazy and that's music to my ears. The weather was perfect, we had a blast.

The road to the site has potholes that fill up after summer thunderstorms making it difficult for cars to navigate. Fishing was good. Bring tick repellant.
