A great place to go and reset. On the Little River side has sunsets at the end of the lake over Graves Mountain. Prettier than Panama City Beach sunsets.
Great bank fishing. Usually a nice breeze.
Walking in morning and evenings is fun looking for fur babies and birds.
Did not see any foxes this year after camping 5 different times. Maybe next year. Grat place probably because of the great staff. Ha

Ridge Road Campground is a gem. If you get in the right spot and look toward Little River Bridge you can see Graves Mountain in your yellow orange and red sunset. Totally beautiful. Staff is great and knows the area. Bald eagles are seen more times than not each day. Friendly deer are seen. Which is why leash rules are important.
I seen a fawn years ago scared into the water in the middle of the day. The fawn swam about a mile before getting back on land. Hurtful to have seen.
So all their rules are important even when we dont get it. The bathhouses are nice and refreshing. The boat ramp is very gentle. Can't beat the views

This was the first time I stayed at a COE and I was very happy with my experience. The site did not look like the pictures, no shade after Hurricane Helene but perfect for my Starlink mini! The water was extremely low but the path down was easy. It’s mostly red clay so be prepared to slip and slide in lots of areas. Thankfully I had lots of pebbles around my access and was able to get my paddleboard in easily. Lots of bugs in the bathrooms/showers but good water pressure. My only major complaint was the little black ants. They were everywhere and I’m still trying to get them out of my RV 2 weeks later. I’d definitely go back but I would plan better for the ants.

Let me say that we have stayed at several of the COE campgrounds in this area.
We felt Ridge Road campground had a lot of potential to be an extremely beautiful park but has been neglected in a couple of ways.
Understanding that this campground like some others in the area suffered damage from a recent hurricane and that the necessary cleanup and recovery can be a long process, much of the needs of Ridge Road appear to be neglect.
The sites and general areas are immensely overgrown and in desperate need of maintenance, and while the bathhouses are in need of renovation, general attention to cleanliness and pest control (a lot of large, live, spiders) would serve them well.
We hope the park will get the attention it needs and look forward to returning.

I should not give this campground a glowing recommendation, I don't want the place to get ruined by getting run over with guests. My wife & I had a tremendous week long visit here. The sites were spacious, the CG is quiet, public spaces are clean & the lake is not busy, we had our own private cove to float & paddle around in

People were nice, helpful. Campsites are large.
Unfortunately, the lake was really low.
