Great experiece. Only recommendation is that my camp site was concreat and rocks, which made it difficult staking my tents. This site was described as tent only. Sugestions are movie night and activites for kids.

We have stayed at Sweetwater several times and were excited to return for a week this year. Second time staying on Site 119 and probably our last. While the site is large and level, we were horrified to find the entire perimeter overgrown with poisen ivy and all the bottom parts of the trees on the site itself covered with poison oak vines. I developed burning rashes on both hands and arms before i identified all these plants. Other sites were not so infested.
The sites are not cleaned up between campers. There was human feces and used toilet paper in the back part of the site. Not sure who the last campers were but really disgusting. Part of the problem of not having FHU including sewers.
The shower building nearby was filthy has no hand soap to wash after toileting. While we were there at least 3 campers brought a soap bottle that was missing by the next morning. The hand drier in the ladies room became jammed on and was glowing when i found it that way. We reported it to the worker who said they would put in a workorder. They just disconnected it
The laundry facilities have been removed.
I know this is a COE park but we go to many and they usually are so much better.
Come on Georgia , you can do better.

I read the reviews after I booked & was originally a bit worried about how the site would be when we arrived. I was so pleasantly surprised!! Perfect waterfront site, with multiple areas accessible to the water. The bathroom facilities were nothing special, but clean, which is most important. We felt safe & had an amazing time. Can’t wait to go back & checkout some other sites.

It's always amazing. Warm waters at the lake, campsite was clean. Just watch for the poison Ivy. Otherwise great experience. We go here every summer.

The staff do a great job keeping the check in process moving. We are always rushing to get set up before dark and it’s nice to have people in the gatehouse that are efficient and polite. We love you guys!!!!

- From I-75 take exit 290 and head east on Highway 20 toward Canton/Rome. After approximately 12 miles turn right onto Fields Chapel Road and follow for 2 miles into the campground.
From I-575 take extit 16. Follow Highway 20 west toward Cartersville, after 5 miles turn left on Fields Chapel Road and follow for 2 miles into the campground.
Elevation: 259 feet
9.9 mi drive to downtown Canton (about 19 min)

General
- Maximum of three pets are permitted per campsite
- Maximum of eight people per campsite
- Maximum of three vehicles per campsite
- Camping limit is 14 consecutive days or 14 non-consecutive days in any 30-day period at all Corps of Engineers operated campgrounds on the Allatoona Lake Project.
- Off-road vehicles, golf carts and ATVs are not permitted
- Entrance gate is closed.
- Digital Copies of campground maps are available online. Please print ahead of time if you would like physical copy.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Primary Occupant must be 18 years of age or older.
