The grass was knee high. It’s a beautiful area but not well maintained. I had to just stay on the concrete areas it was so high everywhere. They don’t really have any amenities so it really has no appeal if it isn’t even maintained.

Site #40 is in my opinion the best site at sweetwater. Now we have stayed at other sites. There and there all good so far. The camping sites have all been clean and nice. So thanks again and we will be back Lord willing.Jeffery Allen

Campground is crowded. Few bathrooms for a campground of that size and those were not clean. The lake itself has garbage in it.

Had a great spot #13 just the right size. Nice and quiet so I was able to get a lot of writing done. I am a writer. Only issue was someone firing off a shotgun in the middle of the night about 20 rounds. Hello! I thought maybe they were scaring the ferril cats or bears. It was within 50 feet of my site. I notified the ranger and they investigated. Next time they told me to call the Police. Other than that great sleep every nite. I put food out for the birds and every morning they were all over my camp site! Loved it. Good people a great place whats not to love!

Camped two nights with my 10 & 11 year old daughters. We had a spot right on the water which was great. Was a busy spot being right on the water but everyone was nice and considerate. Clean facilities and grounds.

I loved being tucked under the tall pines at Sweetwater. What a beautiful site 120 was. Big space and did I mention shade from the trees? That matters most in the Georgia summertime. I would recommend this campground to anyone wanting a camp site not a parking lot. Plus, the lake offers beautiful views and water sports. A little beach and swimming area was enticing but I only had one day to enjoy Sweetwater.

The campground is nice and the hosts are friendly. The one thing that could be improved on is the grass cutting. It was very high all around the camp sites.
