Sweetwater Campground

The place itself was fantastic, but there is no after hours number or noise ordnance enforcement. Our first night there was a group that was shining their flashlights in tents and yelling and being so loud that even ear plugs did no justice. They were drinking and had an ax or machete and eventually at 3 AM we were forced to call the police TWICE before they finally had them leave for the night. Other than that it was fantastic and well kept and the distance between sites is pretty fair.

I must’ve picked the worst spot to back into as a novice, but we got backed in and set up. We had a really good time and the place was very nice. Except for the rain, we would’ve walked a lot more! The view of the lake was pretty nice. Kudos to the Camp volunteers as they were most helpful and friendly.

There were weeds and poison ivy and oak every where several people got poison oak on them I’ve camp here just about all my life and this was the worse I’ve ever saw it grown up. We were also on site 134 which has the grey gravel and dust and we had three dogs that were covered in that all the time and tracked it in our camper you should warn visitors on the web site which campsite has this because it is awful

The bathrooms are terrible. They didn’t bother cleaning them on the busiest weekend of the year. The mold is out of control. The worst I’ve seen in a long time.

We stayed at site 38 (Premium water front site) from 25 to 29 May. The site was overgrown with weeds and poison ivy. There were two dead trees that were covered with vines that blocked a large portion of our view of the lake. Dead trees, mostly drift wood, and trash was all along the lake shore. It was several feet thick all along the shore and made fishing from the bank impossible. When we left on the 29th, our camper was infested with ants. The picnic table was also infested with ants and unusable for eating. About seven sites down from us some tent campers left two coolers and a large bag of trash when they left. The bag had been torn open by animals. That's not the campsites fault, but after three days nobody from the campground had come by to clean it up. The bathrooms were in pretty good shape and clean, but could use new shower heads. We will not be staying at Sweetwater again.

Its a really nice camp ground we enjoyed our stay and plan on going back sometime.
