About Northbank Day Use Area Shelter

Northbank Day Use Area is located in the North Georgia Mountains about 70 miles north of Atlanta on Carters Lake. The sparkling waters and rugged shoreline provide a beautiful surrounding for a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities including camping, hiking, boating, mountain biking, fishing, hunting and picnicking. Norhtbank provides an excellent view of both Carters Lake and the ReReg Lake from its location on top of Carters Dam.

Directions were not accurate and the shelters are marked with numbers that were not on our reservation. The tables were dirty so bring a table cloth. The park was great and so were the views. Clean and well kept.

The large shelter can accommodate up to 100 people.
The small shelter can accommodate up to 50 people.

Site types & loops

Tables in the shelter must remain in place and cannot be moved.

Fees & deposits

There is a $5.00 fee per vehicle for day use, payable by credit card at the Fee Machine.

Vehicles & parking

Arrive early for parking as spots are not reserved for shelter bookings.
