We only stayed here one night, but we had a nice time. It was a holiday weekend but the campground didn't feel too crowded. Our site (51) was spacious and mostly shaded. It was right next to a bathroom and dump station. We didn't mind this but something to think about when making reservations. There was a path from the site down to the lake, which was nice. Great if you have a boat or paddle board! The bathrooms were a little lackluster with barely any hooks or shelves to place personal items. No fan in the bathroom either, so it felt 10 degrees hotter inside than out. That's my only complaint though. Overall the campground is very beautiful and we'll be back!

Such a beautiful and relaxing visit. I am on a 4 month tour of the blue ridge foot hills. Next year will be 6 months. All of the park rangers and staff are so easy to work with.

This is a very nice campground. The only challenge here were the big black carpenter ants that were just about everywhere. Understandably this is nature. Sites are nice and most have lake views. We were in site 23 which was nicely shaded. It can be a challenge for anyone with a longer trailer to back in if they are not well accustomed to backing in tight spots. This is because the site is right off a sharp corner and is basically in the driver's blind spot when beginning to back into it. Otherwise, a great and fairly private site!

The (2) host couples are fantastic this season! The lake is close to full pool and the fishing is good!
