Great place to camp. The campground host were very friendly and helpful. Clean sites. This was our first time to camp there, but we will definitely be back.

The space was clean and close enough to the parking lot to carry our gear to without any trouble. The bathrooms were a short drive away and were very clean and well stocked. The lake views on both sides made for a nice calming vibe throughout my stay. The groundskeepers were attentive and had great recommendations for where to buy firewood nearby, although there was some wood already cut at our site when we got there (it was rainy during our stay though). 10/10 would recommend site 50 at this campground.

View of lake was awesome, leaves were beautiful. Bath house was always clean. Volunteers were friendly.
**** big widow maker limb hanging off tree off the back side of site 11. Off to left side facing the lake. Above trail leading to lake. Pointed out to volunteer. ******

Helpful hosts/volunteers. Clean bathrooms and campsites. Had a terrific time. Be warned, we happened to be at the campground at the beginning of November when 2/3 of it was closed off for a hunt. It didn't really impact us other than our daily walk was on the road outside the campground rather than throughout the campground/hunt area.

We stayed here the last weekend in October, walk-in sites 19 and 20, and had such a great experience that we have already booked these same spots for next year! As others may have mentioned, these spots do have a bit of a hike in, but totally worth it for the views, access to the lake and privacy. We brought a canoe and kayaks, launched right off our campsite! The campgrounds were also a great walk/hike for non-water activity. We’ve stayed at the other spots on Carters Lake and this is by far our favorite!
