The campsite was great. It was near other campers but still private . fairly easy walk to the comfort station. Quiet campground with no light pollution at night.

Check in booth located on extreme slope very scary to park and get out to fill out registration card. Concrete slap ends on steep cliff for the campsite. Not child friendly at all quite dangerous. Then the bumblebees about 4-5 buzzing right at my face. I called the camp host and he shows up with a can of wasp spray and fights them a bit. Says they won’t sting. I ask to move to another site I was only staying the night. Multiple empty around me. He says he cannot do that must be done online through rec.gov. Only thing there is no cell device there. Camp host should be given discretion on those matters. So I didn’t cook and just sat in my car because I didn’t want to try driving at night on the mountain roads. Bad experience!

We stayed at site 8, great place, really enjoyed the fact that it was a pull through site. It's a very pleasurable experience staying at this campground.

From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293, then Highway 411 north to Highway 136. Turn right on Highway 136 and follow to Highway 382. Turn left on Highway 382 and look for signs to the campground-- access road is directly across from the volunteer fire station.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Reservations are required for all campers, with limits on occupancy and vehicles.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
General
- Campground gate is open.

- Vehicles can exit at any time, but cannot re-enter after closing.
Safety & rules
- Use caution when entering due to steep road conditions.
Site capacity
- Camping is limited to a maximum of 14 days within any 30-day period.
Fires & fuel
- Please do not move firewood; buy locally to protect the forest.
