What Guests Are Saying
Doll Mountain Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds and friendly, helpful hosts. Many visitors enjoyed spacious, private sites with stunning views of Carters Lake and appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, as well as nearby attractions like Ellijay and Blue Ridge. However, some concerns were raised about parking difficulties, the distance to restrooms, and noise from other campers disrupting the tranquility. Overall, it is recommended as a great camping destination with a serene environment.

Doll Mountain is the best COE campground to visit. The volunteers treated you like a friend, not just a number. We will for sure return!

The sites were spacious and the time of year was terrific. Seeing the foliage change was breathtaking and our site was very private, yet all the neighboring spots were full. My husband and I went to Blue Ridge (just a short drive) and picked apples at Merceir's Orchards, though there are several closer orchards nearby. We also shopped for apple pies, and apple cider donuts. They have so much more there than just apples. On the way back to the campsite, we went to Bear Claw winery for a wine tasting and beautiful views. They provide board games for some added fun. Another day we went to Ellijay for the Apple Festival at the fairgrounds (check for dates). They had food trucks, arts and crafts and kids' activities all sponsored by the local Lions' Club. On a different day we went to the dam area to have lunch ( we made in our RV) and then drove to the marina at Carter's Lake. Lastly, we went to Engelheim Vineyards for a relaxing way to sip and view. The quaint Bavarian town of Helen is only a 2 hour or less drive and we had stopped there for 2 days before Ellijay. We will definitely be back to Doll Mountain campground.

This was our first visit to Doll Mt and hopefully will not be our last. The campground is well maintained and the sites are very accommodating.
Ellijay and Blue Ridge are close and both towns are charming. Plenty of hiking opportunities.
