Rented two sites and was constantly harassed about parking. Family do not come on the second site so we parked over flow vehicles there and still got warnings. We will just do day visits from here forward-

This place is really great: The sites are level with good space for extra pup-up tents or equipment. The bath houses are clean and well maintained. I like that the sites have both fire pits and standing cooking grills along with picnic tables. There are no real hiking trails, but you can access the lake from two different locations plus the boat ramp. The campground is close to a major shopping center (Walmart, Lowe's and all kinds of eating places plus old town Ellijay is a wonderful place to visit, shop and eat.

We camped at site #5. Loved having the deck, it gave us so much more room. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the deer every where. It was a very pleasant trip.

Our site was very clean and ready, although the weather wasn’t. I will warn you that the speed breaks are extremely large and will damage your vehicle or camper if you aren’t careful. After sitting all winter, we had some water leakage problems and the jarring over the speed breaks caused one of my cabinets to break loose from the ceiling, not all the speed breaks fault. Overall we always enjoy Doll Mountain. I wish there was an easier was to get to the water to fish, lol.

I received a certified letter addressing me as a female Mrs. Jane doe, with a citation stating I left my tent, hatchet, and trash at my campground. This was my family's first camping experience with my four kids one of which is disabled. The letter stated that I, Mrs Jane doe (I'm a male, never heard of this person) abandoned my tent and other items as well as littered around the campsite. My family, on the first, experience as a family camping trip, with my disabled daughter and 3 other children were cited for leaving beer bottles, cigarette butts, a tent, a hatchet, and various other trash. The letter stated that the campground was immediately inspected upon departure on June 10th. We left the campground on June 9th due to a forecast of possible 60 mph winds (we were camping in a tent). We cleaned the area very well and my wife even stated that "it looks like we were never here" to which I responded "that's the way it should be".
This was my first camping trip as a family and I thought I could Instill in my young children how nice it was to disconnect from technology and enjoy nature, instead I am going to court with ample evidence.
TLDR: Avoid at all costs. The campground itself was ok but no lake access except for boat ramp that doesn't allow swimming or fishing. You could also possibly end up with a fine that's so outrageous it defies common sense, as who abandons a tent and tools at the campsite????

Nice campground. Only hiccup was that we brought our electric golf cart to get around and as soon as the campground host saw it, we were told it was not allowed. I read everything I could find before the trip and there was nothing about no electric carts/vehicles - even the nice man who delivered the news to us said he had never heard that before. Of course the kid in the next site over was on his electric scooter zipping all over the place. Nevertheless, we were told that the police would be around and they would ticket us if they saw the cart. This was a little frustrating since the bathhouse was not located in our loop and the boat ramp not even close.
