The campground is very nice with lots of tree shade and water views. There are many hiking trails within 20-mile radius. Lake water is clean, pristine and temperature is very comfortable. Wear flip flops to take showers. Spray shower floors with disinfectant prior to use. The camp hosts are very professional and helpful.

This has been the most horrible experience for a vacation I have EVER had. The gate attendant Linda and her husband were rude and argumentative. We had 11 campsites as we do a family reunion every year for over 30 years at a core of engineer site. My immediate family had 3 sites rented for 13 days. We were not able to arrive on the day we expected as my husband had covid. We called recreation.gov and they stated it was not an issue just call the local office to explain which we did, they said no problem however it was nothing but a problem. We drove an RV to park on site 35 and we had a tent for site 38 the attendant, Linda was rude and accused us of being lying and said we were trying to get over on them. I had my ID and my husband had his ID as well but she yelled at us and called the Park Ranger to come to our site, which was fine as we had all our information. Our daughter then came to stay with us with her children and we added her car to the parking pass then we she left the attendant checked our entire site out and make us leave the site that we had paid for in full for 2 more days because she stated we couldn't be there without a car. We drove an RV with equipment for both sites! Then this same attendant (Linda) did the same thing to my aunt on site 36 when her daughter left and turned her pass in. They made her pay again to stay for the 2 day even after she showed them her receipt. I think they were some how keeping this money or getting extra money for the site. My brother came in on his site the attendant ask why he and his wife had different last names and my brother said excuse me then Linda said never mind I know why she keep her name. My brother ask what do you mean and she just said again I know why. This behavior is disturbing to say the least. Please be aware of these attendants and report them if you have had issues. This is not the environment we want at these camp grounds.

Linda the attendant and her husband were rude and gave me and my family a hard time from day 1! I rented site 38 and my wife rented 35 as we have a family reunion every year at a core of engineers camp site on Lanier for the past 30 years. We drove a C-class RV to park on 35 and brought a tent for site 38. Attendant Linda gave us a hard time and stated that we were trying to do something funny if we both had a site. She said Y'all better sleep separately at each site and we told her we understood the rules. Our daughter and grand children came to stay with us for a few days and got a pass for their car then when they left the attendant checked the entire site out and made us move our tent and told us we would have to pay again if we wanted to stay because she could not fix the error that she caused. My family paid for 11 sites for 7 up to 13 days and we were treated like criminals. My wife and I camp all over the country and we have never experienced this kind of situation. If you are looking to stay at this location pray you do not get Linda and her husband for attendants. They will ruin your vacation and peace.
