The attendant at the gate was very rude. There was some confusion about the reservation and the lady at the gate could care less about the situation. My mother was in from out of town and wanted to come out to visit for a while. You are not allowed to have guests. Only people camping are allowed onsite. The site was also at the top of a steep hill. We ended up forfeiting the whole reservation and went next door to North Van Pugh. The attendants at South Van Pugh should go to North Van Pugh to see what customer service should be like. Never returning to this site. There are plenty of other campsites that do not nitpick who is at the site.

We stayed at Site 031 for 2 nights. The campground was very nice and each site seemed to have enough privacy from other sites. The views from this site were really pretty. The walk to the bathroom was mostly uphill but it really didn't take too long. I have no complaints about the rest rooms. We had a 9 by 14 feet tent and it almost didn't fit in the space. We were unable to properly stake the fly as it caused some tripping hazards near the pad closest to the water. Because of the size of our tent, we didn't use our fire pit as it was about 2.5 feet from the tent. The picnic table at this site is permanent (cemented to the ground) and cannot be moved. Overall, we had a really good experience and plan to go back and possibly to this site or the ones next to it.
