My experience at the Van Pugh South location was very peaceful and the camping site had a great view of the lake.

The park was nice, but the trip was eventful. The group next to us had a mother fall in the woods during the night and have to go to the hospital. It sounded like someone was being killed.
The next day, our children were playing on an already installed rope swing which was cut down by the lake patrol. The cove had a lot of boat traffic, so a little hard for the kids to be out on floats or other canoes some of the time.
The campsites were clean, good size and enough space for two cars. The couple working the front gate were very nice and helpful.
