Campsite and facitilites alwatys good. Water level way down, and from learning a bit about that it is not only due to drought conditions, but management of water needed in other state?? Disappointing for the lake experience we always love since looking at mud and walking in it to get kayaks into water not esthetically pleasing, to say the least. Our hope is water level is allowed to rise for enjoying this beautiful campground as we always have

This is a well kept attractive campground with large sites many with excellent lake access. The staff is great. The park is recovering nicely from the clearing of diseased trees. There are many excellent lake front sites. Some of the sites are large and private. Be careful in the summer, some of the sites have brutal sun exposure. The park has a nice swimming area if the water is high enough. The restrooms vary in age but all of them are clean and well ventilates. IT would be nice if they provided hand soap for the sinks. The park is closed at night so be sure you are back before they lock the gate.

My only complaint is that due to the placement of the awning on my camper, and the height of the awning on my fifth wheel, I couldn’t put my awning out without risk of low hanging limbs on the tree there. It would be great if thee limbs could be trimmed up higher. Springfield Site #17

We enjoy camping at Springfield we were on site #29 pull thru and it's big and near bathrooms. Of course very sunny as years ago maybe 7 years ago a storm came thru and took down lots of trees and its hot in summer on some of those sites. We think they should have planted more trees on these sites but wasnt a problem this trip being in April that we visited. It's near a Dollar General 4 miles, a Ingles Grocery Store maybe 7 miles and several other in that area. Hartwell Lake is definitely feeling the drought with low water as swimming area was without water, so wear those life jackets when in water as could be drop offs. We will be back, we love the Sr. discounts and nice private sites.
